Rk Singh, Minister of Renewable Energy, said the government planned to launch a bidding for 4000 MWh battery storage capacity to address the variability related to renewable power generation. 

The plan will provide 1000 MWh storage for four regional load dispatching centers (rldcps), each to help discoms store excess renewable energy generated during the day or at night.
