EPE, Brazil's state-owned energy research company, announced on Thursday that 66.862MW of renewable energy projects have been registered for two auctions to be held on June 25, 2021.

A-3 and A-4 bidding projects will contract wind, solar, hydropower and biomass power generation projects. A total of 1841 energy projects will compete for contracts.

The successful bidder will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a term of 30 years for hydropower plants (HPPs), 25 years for biomass energy and 20 years for wind and solar energy projects. The government has previously said that the successful bidder will start power supply in 2024-2025.
