According to the official website of China Development Bank (CDB), CDB will issue its first "carbon neutral green financial bond" to global investors in Beijing on March 18. CDB has already started the pre issue from March 12 to 17 to realize the transaction and pricing in advance.

CDB said that the funds raised by the bonds will be used for carbon emission reduction projects such as wind power and solar energy, to effectively promote the decarbonization of power system and realize the transition of energy system. The projects raised meet the relevant standards of green bonds of the people's Bank of China and the requirements of the latest international climate bond standard (V3.0).

According to China Development Bank, the issuance scale of the bonds is no more than 20 billion yuan (3.074 billion US), which is the largest amount of green bonds issued in the market at present and is specially used to help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization. The bond is China's first "carbon neutral bond" to be labelled and certified by the International Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), and has also been certified by the third-party certification agency and equator in China.

It is reported that by the end of 2020, the balance of green credit of China Development Bank is about 2.2 trillion yuan, and 50 billion yuan of green bonds have been issued, continuously increasing the support for clean energy and other key projects of the 2060 Carbon Neutralization Target.
