PV Module Prices Have Risen 15% in the Past Few Weeks

Release date:2021-03-03 Source:Raytech Pageviews:-

Some utility-scale solar projects tendering results recently released show that the price of solar modules has increased by 10% to 15%, and the price increase for some upcoming bidding is also underway. As an indicator of the price of solar products, the Chinese market plays a vital role, because the shortage of raw materials pushed the price increase to the top of the storm.

According to reports, the reason for this round of price increase is that the supply of aluminium frame and raw materials such as polysilicon, glass and silver is insufficient, and the current production capacity cannot meet the exuberant demand. According to a recent report of the China Silicon Association, the current price range of single crystal silicon is 102,000 yuan to 107,000 yuan per ton (about US $15,800 to US $16,600), with an average transaction price of 103,400 yuan per ton, up 11.78% on a month-on-month basis.

Since March, the price of single-crystal solar cells has been raised comprehensively. The quotation of G1 and M6 (170μm) single-crystal silicon chips is 3.55 yuan / chip (US $0.55) and 3.65 yuan / piece respectively, rising by 9%. Based on this, 175μm increased by 0.05 yuan / piece (US $0.01). Prices of raw materials such as steel and aluminium have also risen sharply recently.
