Belgium, the central European country will have an installed capacity of about 1010 MW in 2020, setting a record in terms of new solar installation deployment. By the end of December, its cumulative solar capacity had exceeded 6GW.

According to new data released by Belgium's Trade Organization Promotion des Energies Renouvelables (APERe), Belgium's new solar installation deployment exceeded the 1GW threshold for the first time in last year.

In 2020, the total capacity of solar system installed in Belgium is 1010MW, including 800MW in Dutch speaking Flemish region, 150MW in French speaking Walloon region and 50 MW in Brussels capital region.

As a comparison, the newly installed PV capacity in 2019 and 2018 is only 544 MW and 367 MW.
