Can PV Modules Withstand Hail?

The diameter of common hail is 5 to 10cm, the density of hail is about 700 to 800kg per cubic meter, and the falling speed of hail is usually 20-30m/s or more. In this case, solar modules will not be damaged.

Hail with a diameter of more than 8cm is a rare-probability event. In this case, most PV modules cannot survive from the disaster. 8cm hails not only damage solar modules, but also cracks your house roof tiles.
