BNEF's latest forecast shows that there may be substantial growth of investment in energy transformation in 2020. Under this trend, the global solar installed capacity may reach 194GW instead of 158GW in 2021.

According to a new report released by BNEF, despite the global economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, solar energy investment increased by 12% year on year to reach $148.6 billion.

The report also said that in 2020, as governments set new targets for decarbonization of energy systems, about $500 billion will be injected into renewable energy projects, systems, and enterprises. BNEF said that this is the first time that investment in energy transformation has reached $500 billion, especially in renewable energy, which has increased by 2% year on year and attracted $303.5 billion.
