The Polish government set 2049 as the deadline for abandoning coal mining, and solar power generation energy will increase threefold by 2020

Poland's solar capacity will reach 4,088.9 MW by February 1, 2021, according to Polskie Sieci Energetyczne (PSE), the Polish power grid operator, on Wednesday, March 10.

PSE said that compared with 2019, the installed power generation capacity of solar photovoltaic system in Poland increased by 157.7%. Last year, the Polish government set 2049 as the deadline for abandoning coal mining, a broader shift to fossil fuels. The Polish government also promised to invest in renewable energy.
