According to the British Solar Energy Association, the British solar industry added 175 MW of solar power generation capacity in the first quarter, bringing the country's cumulative solar installed capacity (PV) to more than 14GW.

According to the association's report, ground solar accounted for 70% of the quarterly increase. However, driven by the subsidy policy, the rooftop solar market flourished, with a year-on-year growth of 14%.

In the 12 months to the end of March, the UK added 660MW of grid-connected solar power. According to the solar energy association, it is expected that the new installed capacity in the country will reach 1GW in 2021.

Solar power plants in the UK now cover more than 3 million households, and the development of solar projects is still climbing even without state subsidies. According to statistics, non subsidized solar energy accounts for 7.3% of the total solar power generation in the UK, with a cumulative capacity of more than 1GW.
