Lightsource BP, the solar department of global oil giant BP, has reached an Enterprise Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with food service retailers McDonald's and eBay for its 345MW solar project in the United States. The Ventress Solar Project, located in pointe Coupee Parish, Baton Rouge, will be Louisiana's largest solar project and is expected to generate more than 600,000MWh of clean energy per year when it goes into production. With a construction investment of more than $300 million, the project is scheduled to begin construction on site by the end of 2021 and commercial operations by mid-2023. Upon completion, Lightsource BP will continue to own and operate the project.
